1. Who we are
This policy covers REMIS (the mobile and web application for property management) and the muresoft.com website, both operated by MuresSoft, a department of Mures Resource Ltd., Abuja, Nigeria. For any privacy question or request, contact us at [email protected].
2. What we collect
Depending on how you use REMIS, we collect:
- Account information: full name, email address, phone number, and a securely hashed password.
- Agent access requests: if you apply to become an agent, we also collect your National Identification Number (NIN), residential and office address, and details about your agency or business (such as CAC registration number, role, and property transaction history), so we can verify your identity before approving access.
- Property and lease information: properties, units, lease agreements, and related records that you or your organization add to REMIS.
- Payment records: the amount, date, and status of rent and utility payments. REMIS does not collect or store your card or bank account details; these are collected and processed directly by our payment partner, Paystack, under its own privacy and security terms.
- Photos and documents: images, videos, or files you upload as evidence for maintenance requests, move-out inspections, artisan reviews, or chat attachments.
- Communications: messages sent through REMIS's in-app chat, and notifications we send you.
- Visitor records: names, phone numbers, and visit details logged by property staff for building security.
3. Why we collect it
- To create, secure, and manage your REMIS account.
- To verify the identity of agents applying for access to the platform.
- To process rent and utility payments and keep accurate payment records.
- To manage properties, leases, maintenance requests, and inspections.
- To enable communication between tenants, agents, property owners, and administrators.
- To maintain visitor and security logs for properties managed in REMIS.
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations, including under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA).
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as needed to operate REMIS, with:
- Paystack: to process rent and utility payments.
- Service providers: trusted hosting, storage, and communication providers who help us run REMIS, bound by confidentiality and data protection obligations.
- Regulators and authorities: where required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of MuresSoft, our users, or the public.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your account data for as long as your account remains active, and for a reasonable period afterward where needed for legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution purposes. Access requests that are rejected, or left pending and never approved, may be retained for a limited period for audit purposes and then deleted. Payment records are retained for as long as required under applicable Nigerian financial and tax regulations.
6. Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA), you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
- request deletion of your data, subject to our legal retention obligations;
- object to or request we restrict certain processing of your data; and
- lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) if you believe your data has been mishandled.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected].
7. Children's privacy
REMIS is intended for use by adults managing or renting property, and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as REMIS evolves or as our legal obligations change. We will update the date below whenever we do, and significant changes will be communicated to users where appropriate.
